Browse Forums Windows & Doors 1 Nov 05, 2009 3:14 pm My husband told the carpenter to install 4 new internal doors upside down (the four panel doors and we have the shorter panels on the bottom)! We paid in total for doors and install about $500. We still have three doors to replace should we put these in upside down too so they all match, or scrap the 4 already upside down ones and start over? We're on a really tight budget as bought a major fixer-upper and already put in two new bathrooms, kitchen, patio and paving. I was so frustrated when I saw them installed wrong. It doesn't bother me, I just wouldn't want it to affect the resale. thanks! Re: Change upside down doors? 2Nov 07, 2009 5:45 pm I dont think it will effect resale value at all. i would of installed the shorter panel at the bottom also. Re: Change upside down doors? 3Nov 11, 2009 7:13 pm I agree with buildingwithhamra too. Shorter panel normally goes to the bottom of the door because if it were to be glazed the longer panels offer more light to enter the room/building.
