Especially in my other thread. Very much appreciated. Re: Help me decide on Pull-Handle position 5Nov 02, 2009 5:00 pm 2 for me, though anything other than the original would be better! Are they going to have to replace the whole door? I can't believe they didn't notice this on installation Caz & Co ALL MOVED IN!! Now comes all the hard work-decorating.... Well basically the door was put up and left plain for 2 weeks. Then it got painted with a base coat. Then the door guy came in and put in the lock and pull-handles. So in effect, the door did not come like this...they MADE it like this. Check out the other thread for the full gas-bag story.
Oh and if they give me option 2 then yes, that's a door replacement. If its option 3 then I think they can just move the handles and patch up the holes. Re: Help me decide on Pull-Handle position 7Nov 02, 2009 5:12 pm just read it - how silly did they think you were??? so in the end, whose fault is it, the lock installation guy? does he foot the bill or are you going to have to pay for a new one? Caz & Co ALL MOVED IN!! Now comes all the hard work-decorating.... Well, if the builder admits fault then I do think they will just blame the door guy and he will get stuck with the bill. If the door guy says its not his fault and the builder can't prove otherwise, then most likely the builder will either tell me too bad, or offer a 'fix'. Hence I won't be surprised if they call me and say its option 3 or nothing. What I have to decide is whether to accept a 'fix' or fight on for a door replacement. At this point in time I'm not sure it's worth all the stress, or not. Re: Help me decide on Pull-Handle position 10Nov 02, 2009 9:48 pm Before looking at the pictures I originally said option 2 - but after looking at the pictures again several times I also think option 3 looks good too!
