We are most likely going with Sikkens products for our Western Red Cedar windows and bi-folds, not because we are convinced it is the best but our painter likes the product and we like the painter. Our painter has recommended Supernatural over Cetol HLS, the Sikkens rep recommended Cetol Filter 7+ ovedr Cetol HLS but warned it would have a lot more sheen on the finish. Any thoughts out there on Supernatural v Cetol Filter 7+? Also, we have a Tallowood floor (oiled) leading to the bi-folds and we wanted to pick a stain that would tone down the red in the western red but be as light as possible. Any suggestions? If you paint it on site it will never be near as good as done in the factory. All our timber joinery is delivered with 3 coat applied in the factory. This is not just better surface quality (smoother) but also more cost efficient compared to employing a painter on site.
