Hi all...
I was hoping if anyone can direct me to the right path, in relation to window height/width guidelines.
We have finalised our drawing.
Somehow i become paranoid that our window do not allow too much sunlight to come in into the house.
(Builder said they don't allow any change at this stage)
So, I was wondering , if there's any personal guidelines to design how big window should you have at home, to allow sunlight, to make yourhouse bright, while keep your house also safe (people not looking into inside of your house)
Most builder use big window, so they can save money towards the bricks, but again.... bricks and windows have different function in allowing the sunlight.
Anyway, in this instance, our windows height, mostly are 1.8m, as opposed to original design 2.1m. (our house has 2.59m ceiling height)
what i have found out, for our windows height 1.8m, they are 50-60cm above the floor (builder made window inline from eaves), while for bedroom windows are 1.5m in height and they are 90 cm above floor
So it raise a question for myself... have we allowed much sunlight?
what's the point of having medium window house and you have to turn on the light on a sunny day ?
i have tried to project the window and sunlight on myvirtualhome software, it gives me answer, but there's no assurance house will be bright as what the software give me.
Is there any software, any guidelines, or any book, that you may be able to share with me, so i can get rid of this paranoid feeling?
(or at least someone please tell me, that our window height are big enough ? eg: i dont have to change to 2.1m)
I have attached the design, so it's easier to understand. If anyone can help, that will be much be appreciated
many thanks all
Dan
