Browse Forums Windows & Doors 1 Oct 15, 2009 7:31 am We are having two lots stacker doors, either side of the patio area facing each other. I am almost tempted not to cover them with anything and but I have to think about privacy if we need it. My thought at this stage is to have panel blinds which could stack up the same way as the doors. What do you think? Re: Stacker doors - Curtains, blinds or something else? 3Oct 15, 2009 8:03 am Hey Ozzy, Ill be watching this thread with interest, we have 2 lots of stacker doors also so would be interested in replies.. Custom build Gold Coast . My build : https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=21952 Its all happening!!! Our build started 24 September !!!! Re: Stacker doors - Curtains, blinds or something else? 4Oct 15, 2009 8:56 am I would do the roller blinds and put them above the door frame so when you roll them up they would be kind of invisible, kind of you could choose a colour the similar to your wall colour. I like stacker doors with nothing on them too, they are perfect alone, but there will be a time when you want privacy. Panel gliders will always be seen in front of the door. Re: Stacker doors - Curtains, blinds or something else? 5Oct 15, 2009 9:30 am Thanks for the replies. Family room: Stacks towards a corner wall - other side is a blank wall followed by a window Games room: Stacks towards a blank wall followed by a single door. We are having the higher ceilings. With regard to the panel gliders, what about getting them to stack against the blank walls, would this look silly? Re: Stacker doors - Curtains, blinds or something else? 6Oct 15, 2009 10:49 am If you did that the top runner...I can't think of the name of the thing they slide along you know what I mean.... that would have to go the whole length of the doors and across the wall, wouldn't it, rather than only above the doors. If you don't mind that happening you could I guess. Re: Stacker doors - Curtains, blinds or something else? 7Oct 15, 2009 10:54 am The "panel glide" blinds are popular for this use. There's a discussion here: viewtopic.php?f=15&t=23463 Re: Stacker doors - Curtains, blinds or something else? 8Oct 15, 2009 11:00 am Quote: With regard to the panel gliders, what about getting them to stack against the blank walls, would this look silly? I am doing the same thing. When open the blinds stack against the wall, and they obviously stay there when closed. You don't notice the track because you notice the blinds I guess. I am also recessing the track into the ceiling to make it look neater. THe on advatantage is that the full window/door is uncovered when the blinds are open. Wow that would be cool but I don't think our builder would do this without some serious $$ from us. Hi Stuey, think you’ve got a couple of options here you’d just need to decide your preference/which options suits best. You could recess the windows (just keep in… 1 3994 What do you need them to withstand? If it's normal wear and tear, then either will do, if you want resistance to ingress then laminated would be the favourite, but only… 1 12390 I work with owner, he/she is my man on the ground and I instruct them when to visit the site and take photos and I have other tools in the bag. 4 15265 |
