We just had french doors installed at our place and decided to go with lever handles from The doorstore in Moorabbin. They are brushed stainless and they look and feel solid. If you like I will post a picture of them if you want. Cheers Re: Recommend good quality handles for doors? 3Oct 15, 2009 6:28 am Reno_girl Hi Jazz, are you after lever handles or knobs? Cheers Hi Reno_girl well that would be great if you have a minnie I think we go for the handles, not the knobs this time around I've always had gold fittings (Victorian home) so going the complete opposite with this rebuild Jazzie Life is like a lolly, suck it and see Re: Recommend good quality handles for doors? 4Oct 15, 2009 8:58 am gainsborough are good value if you can get them at the right price. I am not goign to say they are top line products but they have a great range and feel good. If you can get a passage set for under $30 you are doing ok. If you have a chance look on ebay usually you can find house lots for 15 each or there abouts,. Re: Recommend good quality handles for doors? 6Oct 16, 2009 3:27 pm Hi Jazz, sorry the photos did not come out at all well. They were brushed stainless lever handles with a gentle curve, they cost me $53 plus extra for the latch. I thought they were a bit expensive compared to Bunnings but they really make the door look fantastic. Good luck with looking Re: Recommend good quality handles for doors? 7Oct 29, 2009 12:48 pm Hi Guys, $53 for lever handles is exactly far expensive, one of my friends have just cost $12 for his Victorian home from the big manufacturers conutry, i could post you pictures or send you samples in advance after you show me the style of handles you prefer to! Ok well it is just that you can't construct sentences very well almost as if it were being translated into English automatically. You keep mentioning prices and phrases in your posts that are not used in Australia very much so I get the impression you are not local? Will this hamper the information and products you are trying to sell to her? You seem to be involved in Japanese auctions a fair bit as well. Fu Manchu, just thought I would let you know that I checked out Truman1210's site he suggested I asked him to provide me a price list - I got two PM's suggesting I choose what I want & he will let his friend know Think I will stick to local traders somehow Jazzie Life is like a lolly, suck it and see Re: Recommend good quality handles for doors? 13Dec 02, 2009 11:19 pm Hi Jazzie, my first post on this forum and I dont know if I can help you out, but ive worked in the industry a while now and have some solid contacts and good understanding on whats available A few of the above brands id actually stay well clear of for a few reasons ill best not mention (defamation warning @ top of page :p) Couple quick q's which might clear some things up to get a good idea what you are after though... 1 - Prob first question is how much are you willing to set back on each set? 2 - Im assuming you will be getting privacy sets also? 3 - Are you close to water, or will these be on external doors? 4 - Do you want anything specific in style/looks about the handle 5 - Are these being retro-fitted to existing doors (ie already cutout holes or will they be fitted to new doors?) 6 - Im assuming this is a DIY install Remember its not very easy finding "cheap" and "quality" in the same product, but there are a few good options out there. Hope to help -John Hi John, thanks for your post. first of all, I must tell you our builder is giving us a contact for handles so we will go there & check out their products just to see what's around. We are looking for interior & exterior handles for all new doors (except front door). My b.i.l. is our builder. He has some great ideas & is well sought after so we are confident our rebuild will be pretty special. We certainly don't want 'cheap' and looking at quality as the rest of the house is 'quality' fitted. If you have a site I could check out, that would be great. I'm open to options but will be visiting the showroom when we can. thanks again Jazz Life is like a lolly, suck it and see 3 3945 9 24637 Thank you.
