Hi,
First time poster.
We're currently putting in a new kitchen and as part of that we've taken out a full length window and replaced it with a 1/2 length one. We've then had a bricky come in and brick up the bottom 1/2 so it looks just like the other kitchen window.
This however has left us with exposed bricks on the inside plus the timber window frame that was there before. We only need to keep 1/2 the frame and remove the rest, but my main concern is that water is able to make it through the top of the bricks into the house (found this in a storm a couple of nights ago). I imagine we need to cover this area and obviously silicone up those gaps, before we put the kitchen benches in front. The thing is I'm unsure whether I should be using special plaster board etc.
So any pointers would be appreciated.
Cheers,
Pedro.
