Browse Forums Windows & Doors 1 Sep 03, 2009 1:34 pm I am building in CQ and my builder uses a guy in bundy for his timber bi folds, but as mozzies/flies are a big problem screening is a must. The guy in bundy has beautiful doors but he doesn't use detractable fly screens as he feels they aren't reliable, he uses a thin metal screen with small holes that is also a bi fold with timber edge, so it's basically a bi fold on a bi fold IYKWIM. Anyway they're lovely but are $13K for 1 5 sash door and as I need 4 of them that just isn't going to happen. So who have you all got your bi fold through? Do they have screening available? The guy from Caterbury Windows & Doors directed me to Duce, has anyone used them? I love the look of their stuff, particularly the screening option of their casements. Anyway I appreciate your help ____________________________ Bec ____________________________ Building our Balinese Resort Inspired Dream Home Blog ~ http://hagarshouse.blogspot.com/ Re: Brisbane builders, a question 2Sep 10, 2009 10:33 am We changed our bifolds to large stacker doors so they could be screened easily. I love the look of the bifolds but living in brizzie you really need your screens. Have a look at trend windows, also the wookworkers they may have some solutions. Things nearly done. Re: Brisbane builders, a question 4Sep 10, 2009 12:59 pm Have you thought about screening your alfresco area so there don't need to be screens on the doors? There are also retrofit retractable screens available - Ultrascreen and others. I don't have any feedback on these but am researching myself so can keep you updated. BecH, could you please PM me details for the guy in Bundy? My husband won't budge from bifold doors to our front deck - he doesn't want any tracks in the doorway (so retrofitting a retractable screen is probably out for us). I'd love to screen the whole deck (no mossies at our BBQs!) but expect this to be pretty XXXy as the deck is 5m x 8m with roof height 8' to 10'. $13k might be a cheaper solution for us! Kylie Re: Brisbane builders, a question 5Oct 09, 2009 1:44 pm Sorry I have only just checked back this post Kylie - I've pm'ed you. billdsl - I spoke to Geoff (who is the manager in maroochydore) from there a couple of weeks ago, they are going to give me some prices but I have to forward them a copy of my plans as all their doors/windows are custom made and he needs the window/door schedule, floor plans, elevations and the nominated wind load to do me the quote so I am just waiting on my finalised plans to forward onto him so will let you know how I go Lou - thanks for that, I have spoken to the woodworkers and their stuff looks really nice and VERY reasonable but they don't offer any screening options it all has to be retrofitted and I prefer not to have to do this, I really like the all in one unit ontions of Duce. I haven't looked at the Trend ones, I did check out Stegbar and quite like their A.T 2000 Series (timber inside & aluminium on the outside) as I have 2 doors that have a slightly exposed northerly aspect so this option might be good for those 2 places. I guess I'll just have to wait for the stupid draftsman to finalise my plans ____________________________ Bec ____________________________ Building our Balinese Resort Inspired Dream Home Blog ~ http://hagarshouse.blogspot.com/ First time poster long story short we are planning knocking down rebuilding a house in Wavell Heights We are thinking to go with Omni built homes as they are but flexible… 0 16278 Hello Josh, This is Irving from PRIMA, we are a manufacturer of the staircase, railings, kitchen cabinets, windows, doors from China.
