Browse Forums Windows & Doors 1 Aug 22, 2009 9:30 am Hi all, I have a narrow and long hallway and plans to get a carpenter to add a door to seperate the hallway and main living area. Does anyone know how much it would cost approximately to add a door to that passage way opening next to fridge cavity? I believe the width of that cavity is 960mm. Lever lock Gainsborough about 50 - 75 and 120 labour should cover it. Hope this helps Re: How much would it cost to add a door? 3Aug 22, 2009 10:25 am Thanks pete! And what about the timber frame around the door? Is that included in the cost you have given me or do I have to include that as well? I did estimate that. You shouldnt have to chance any framework behind the plaster as it would have been designed as a opening with studs on either side. Just remember though, if you use a solid door you may have to double stud though this would be highly unlikely as looking at the pics it appears a quality job. I would suggest a french door to enhance light transfer and they look wicked!! But that is a personal preferance and not a structural consideration. Cheers Pete Re: How much would it cost to add a door? 5Aug 22, 2009 11:04 am Yes a french door will be lovely!! i will have to go around to bunnings to find out how much they are. The agents weren't happy… 2 4426 Approvals are covered in the cost we are paying to the pool company. The only thing stated in our home build contract for the additional cost is engineering support. … 3 7521 7 12255 |
