Can you install a cat door in a double glazed unit?

We have a glass sliding door and it's double glazed. We need to install a cat door so we're thinking of installing it in the static piece of glass, not the one that slides.

Can this be done? I'm not sure how the argon gas inside would be affected.

Double door frame size

Current door width is approx 2700, looking to have double doors fitted 820-820. What size does the frame need to be before door jamb? Thanks
