Browse Forums Windows & Doors 1 Aug 06, 2009 4:07 pm What options do I have for the external windows' mouldings? I'm aware of those styro cement coated thingys and obviosly the timber ones. Any other options ? My window frames protrude 2-5mm from the cladding, because timber studs aren't 100% straight. Which type of moulding would be the best to cover that and what method ?? Problem is cladding surface being a few mm off one way or another, following the studs' edges. Aluminium frames come with trimmings that can hide that, or can be set deeper inside the openings as they're much thinner, not posible with PVC. Too late for that anyway, the windows're screwed in and fixed with expanding foam, moving them would be quite hard and costly. The best solution is to butt the external mouldings against the frames, then fix the imperfections with packing and render.
