my 1st roller blind just gave up, has been installed about 2 years ago for the former owner. Two of the other blinds sound like I have to fix them soonish. Reason:

che cable runs trough a coil in a steep angle, rubs on that coil (metal on metal) and gives up quite quickly. The results are:

The winding mechanism btw sits in a box made of .5mm galvanised, fixed with 4 self tapping screws. The box is quite wiggly and the self tapping screws won't go anywhere once you fixed the thing once or twice. That yields you 2 to 3 times 2 years, just enough to move to a new place and deal with someone else's lousy blinds.

so, when you are thinking about installing roller shutters, check whats in store and don't buy those ones.
Hope its not defamation, did not mention the company, but they all sell the same system anyway.
