Browse Forums Windows & Doors Re: Comfort Plus Glass & The Cleaning Of 2Jul 22, 2009 1:18 pm SuH Does anyone else have Comfort Plus and how do you clean it. I know it's touchy stuff and I have directions for the cleaning and what to use and what not to use, but if anyone has any tips I would greatly appreciate it. It's difficult to clean... and I expect you already have the manufacturers directions but here they are anyway. I wouldn't use anything else as it may void your warranty. http://www.viridianglass.com/products/d ... eaning.pdf Ed "ECOECO" At 'EcoEco', we design windows, we design the best windows, we do it for you, so that when you’re happy we are happy. When our cleaners were cleaning the house, I have a feeling they attempted to clean a few spots of concrete, or something similar, off the glass with a scourer, to me it seems there are dots of rust on one area, also the glass is discoloured in a couple of small areas, I can really only see these at night. We had no idea what Comfort Plus was until the window cleaners came in and they knew straight away and gave us those directions for cleaning. The brilliant building company didn't even ask if we were happy with this. All except the frosted windows, is CP oh joy! Hmmm - if it was his cleaner, your builder should pick up the tab on that one... The protective film that was on the exterior of the glass hasn't come off the silver window frames, what can I use? It depends what/whose film it is. Contact the window supplier and ask them what to do. But the film should not be left on for more than about 4 weeks. I doubt the film has done serious damage, but removing it after months is a big problem which can only be fixed by hard work and care. IMO, still ask the window co for info. Ed I will, but I think they left it on because it was in the "too hard" basket and frames weren't their speciality, only the glass part. Tel. 1800 326 326 Re: Comfort Plus Glass & The Cleaning Of 11Apr 24, 2017 3:11 pm I have this glass also and my recommendations would be don't touch it I have tried many times. Firstly of all my builder had paint spilled all over the windows little paint dote everywhere I'm assuming they would have cleaned the windows hard and fast with some kind of acidic product to removed most of it easily even though they have left more than plenty for me to clean in the corners. Ive cleaned the windows 3 times in almost 2 years and I'm still rubbing paint off sometimes. I have weird purply stains also and the glass just looks so scratched and hazy when the sun hits it. In my opinion its a failed research attempt and the builders have been asked to flog it off so all the research and development didn't go to waste. So apparently its energy efficient I doubts its that great and who in their right mind want scratched looking hazy windows. Disgusting product they need to be taken to fair trading and sued or made o replace every single customers window that is unhappy as I want my whole house redone in normal clear scratch free glass. This glass it pitiful and pathetic I was so disappointed and I thought I was getting an upgrade....... how wrong I was please people and any one building avoid this glass at all costs................... 1000000% definitely add insulation. I have in my home and it makes a big difference minimising sound transfer.
