Re: Security Door Help Which One 2Jul 20, 2009 9:59 am Hi a) seems OK, b) & c) are proprietary names so I have no idea what they are... if Alumesh is aluminium mesh, then the only advantage IMO is in fire rated areas. They distort if you scratch them. I would get the builder to do it... it's in their Warranty then. Thanks again Re: Security Door Help Which One 4Jul 20, 2009 10:54 am Basically this is the email i got from the builder, i should i have pasted this earlier with grill $410.00 – the grill is like large diamond frame over a flyscreen - supamesh $420.00 - ??? the grill is similar to lots of small slits running vertical and them stretched. You can still see through this one when looking out,but very difficult to see in - aluguard $500.00 this grill is a flat metal sheet with lots of holes punched through it Re: Security Door Help Which One 5Jul 20, 2009 12:05 pm kamranshakil Basically this is the email i got from the builder, i should i have pasted this earlier with grill $410.00 – the grill is like large diamond frame over a flyscreen - supamesh $420.00 - ??? the grill is similar to lots of small slits running vertical and them stretched. The second I think is "one way mesh" added to the same door (is that right?) instead of fibreglass mesh. The third I am not familiar with. IMO get the one that rates as a security door... It does cut down a lot of visibility and airflow, but you could crash a truck into it and it would be fine. At least with the fibreglass mesh door, you can pull it off and replace it when you need to. We're facing the same dilemma too. Nice front door but we want a screen door for airflow. We're just going to put in a stock standard screen door most likely but we have looked at this mob http://www.ultrascreen.com.au/ . My uncle has them and they work ok, they're a little awkward in places, as he has them across french doors and they close from both sides. Across a single door, I reckon it'd be great. Hi When it rains in a particular direction water comes through the security door. It hits the main door and the bottom swells and jams. Not sure if it will be as long lasting as a steel finish? 6 6349 It seems very clear to me that your contract states that a security account does NOT need to be established so the answer to the builder is NO. If in doubt find a contract… 1 8505 |
