Hi all.
Need a bit of advice for an external bi-fold system. Need something that looks good, functional, but cost effective as I am renovating to sell.
The Door Store is offering a bi-fold made out of SPM (sliced pacific maple), fitted with centor hardware. I think it is manufactured by Hume Doors. For a 4-door system the price is about $3500, which is heaps cheaper compared to Meranti or KDHW. Also, it is not just kit form, it comes fully assembled with hardware, etc.
Just wondering what the drawback might be? Obviously the SPM is a veneer... not sure what the core is. Does SPM stain OK? Will it withstand the weather and not warp?
Cheers.
