Browse Forums Windows & Doors 1 Jul 14, 2009 10:57 am I have a new query about how to get a doorless shower into our ensuite. We have changed the ensuite from the original plans by adding an eclosed toilet. We also would like a doorless shower, ie with just a single glass panel and no door. We think that these look elegant and will be more practical for cleaning etc. What do people think of have a highlight window above the shower to let natural light in, maintain privacy yet still have what we want in the shower? You can't beat having natural light anywhere you can. I'm a bit worried though about the man in the shower with his clothes on. Ha Ha A balanced diet is chocolate in both hands. As long as they tile fully up to the the glass otherwise moisture could be an issue on any timber in there. We are having a window like that in our ensuite but ours will be on the wall over the vanity. Same wall as your vanity. We are also having no door but its a double shower so our gap will be in the middle. Maybe the guy in the shower is just saving water by clothes washing while showering Building at The Ponds Land reg 3/12/09, Land settled 18/12/09 Approved by Design Panel 16/11/09, Submitted to council 24/11/09, Approved by Council 21/1/10 Site Start 21/5/10 http://andyminpondsbuild.blogspot.com/ https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=19800 Re: Ensuite Windows 4Jul 14, 2009 11:36 am Thanks for the comments. I am also trying to arrange the kids bathoom with a similr feature, see below: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Andy_min what are the dimensions of your double shower and the glass. I want to make sure that we don't end up with water just spraying everywhere and I am struggling to find any references about this. Also if you don't mind me asking do you know how much yours will cost, or is it just part of the package? I thought it was best not to take the clothes off the man, there may have been children reading this forum.... Also it would feel more open? Re: Ensuite Windows 6Jul 14, 2009 12:24 pm Thanks dragon, that's a great idea. It led me on to this one though in order to get rid of that wall: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ View our blog at: http://room4acubby.blogspot.com/ Re: Ensuite Windows 7Jul 14, 2009 8:16 pm room4acubby Andy_min what are the dimensions of your double shower and the glass. Will probably have 2 X 900mm panels either end with the gap in the middle of 700mm. We have 2 concerns how much water will escape and if it will be cold in winter because the steam wont be trapped in. Have no idea if it will work but if it doesnt we will just have a door added. I have seen costs of around $500 to $800 per panel. We have our own builder so everything is optional for us. Our plans and elevations are in another thread if you wanted a look. We will probably just do a cheaper framed or semi framed in the other bathroom but the ensuite is my baby. We were thinking of having the window above the shower like yours but I had the moisture concern and we had the other wall available, so easier just to move it. I love the man in the shower, I think he needs a name and he can pop up in all your photos. I wonder if he can cook? The space between shower and sinks was too tight. I agree about the toilet location. So I have tried two other options: The lower one is… 3 6118 the step up is 30mm and wanting it to be flat . how much does the concrete have to be lowered .we plan on removing bath and lenghten shower and adding seat. the old bath… 0 11800 |
