Hi Lisanne, We haven't even started to build but as soon as I got the plans I've been off getting idea's and quotes for Blinds, Landscaping, and driveways etc. I guess for me I want to know asap so I know what we're up for. The place where I'm getting my blinds suggested we layby our order and start paying them off weekly even if the layby ends up being for 8mths. I thought this was a great idea she had and will take her up on that as soon as I make a decision on colour. I'm wanting people to come on site and measure it all to be more accurate 'A bottle of wine contains more philosophy than all the books in the world.' If the builders are out I will make them reimburse me the blind https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=19655 FINALLY slab down 5th SEPT Oct 16 Bricking/ plaster starting Dec 1 Painting started END OF CONTRACT IS UP SOON HURRY UP AND FINISH MY HOME..... countdown to 27th Feb. If the builders are out I will make them reimburse me the blind I spose my concern with it was in case the window measurements didn't include the frame etc cos I want my blinds on the outside, plus if they measure it and it's wrong they fix it Anyways, do you think it's ok to do now, before the bricks? I have two weeks off from work starting at the end of next week and would be ideal to get some quotes done 'A bottle of wine contains more philosophy than all the books in the world.' I have two weeks off from work starting at the end of next week and would be ideal to get some quotes done The place where I went asked me if I wanted my blinds hung internally or on the frame arch, (externally) they know the allowance to make she said that many people pre order their blinds using the plans for measurements. If it was me I would absolutely get some advise and quotes while you have the time, take in your plans they will have all the window measurements and then tell them your needs regarding how you would like them hung. They will let you know if it is best to wait or not. I just spoke to a friend who has built, she said she gave copies of her plans to about 4 curtain makers and they worked out a quotes based on those, she went with the best offer and this was done when she was at frame stage all blinds were perfect. Maybe ring a few places first and see what they suggest to do. Hope this helps, Have a nice break. https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=19655 FINALLY slab down 5th SEPT Oct 16 Bricking/ plaster starting Dec 1 Painting started END OF CONTRACT IS UP SOON HURRY UP AND FINISH MY HOME..... countdown to 27th Feb. I am getting quotes over the next week so I can let you know who is cheapest if y'like? We are getting a combination of white timber venetians and blockout roller blinds. Some windows will have both because they will get morning sun in summer. Blog: http://bluemistkids.blogspot.com "Never be afraid to try something new.
