Browse Forums Windows & Doors 1 Jun 16, 2009 12:02 pm I would like to open up the space between the Kitchen and Rumpus areas, but I'm at a loss of what would be the best way to go about it. I still want to be able to close the area off, as it will have our office stuff and my sewing table in there, which I don't want the kids to be able to rampage around all day. Other options, French doors, cavity sliders etc.. Has anyone else got internal doors that you use to open or block off a room, and what do you like/dislike about them? And does the top gap go all the way to the ceiling, or 2100 high? I do like that look, however I would also like to open it right up, if we were entertaining (and I cleaned up our mess sufficiently ) Decisions, decisions.. Re: Opening up internal walls.. door ideas? 4Jun 16, 2009 1:03 pm The Gap goes to the ceiling - its not a load bearing wall so we can go to the top. As our ceiling height is 2.7m then the wall is 1.3M - or half the height We thought about opening up also, however for me I liked the seperation without blocking out completly - and it was cost effective too.. All the best ! * Are we there yet ? Demolition has come and gone ! yippeeee..hang on that was months ago !! come on Mr Builder, dig a hole at least Finaly ! Hole Dug ! well done darren 20/06/2010.
