Browse Forums Windows & Doors 1 May 21, 2009 11:47 am We have had an issue with a sliding door off our games room since the first night we moved in to our house, it leaks, There was a two metre long puddle of water spread out from the door along the floor from an average down pour, the floor is waterproof so no biggie but that first winter it only leaked a 3 or 4 more times. I told the builders what happened they were a bit stumped, a mantenance guy eventually ran a line of sealant along the outside of the door along the brick sill, said they would get a rep from the window company to have a look but of course unless you badger them to honour their promises nothing happens. So summer goes and our first real rain in months last night ( ) and it immediately leaks a small puddle, mop it up and then it rains, thunders, pours, blows a gale all night and no more puddle... So why is it leaking at a small amount of rain then when it blows rain hard against the door nothing happens? Any clues? It looks like the water is coming from under the door but there is no actual area i can pinpoint it coming from. It's more that the puzzle is bugging me, than the leak bothering me. You could try to replicate the problem with a hose to see where exactly the water is getting into the frame. I’m in a similar position except I’m after sliding 3 stacking doors. I am on a second-story apartment of which the balcony would not adequately fit any bi-fold or… 5 16164 DIY, Home Maintenance & Repair Thanks Chippy . Did also see a YouTube video before.
