Browse Forums Windows & Doors 1 Apr 15, 2009 11:22 pm Hi all, Just wondering if anyone is aware that A&L will not continue with their "metro silver' colour. They have changed it with Anodic Grey. I had my colour appointment yesterday and was advised by the colour consultant. I am quite sad as I personally prefer Metro Silver to Anodic Grey. Anodic Grey is a little bit darker than Metro Silver. Has anyone seen the actual colour sample of anodic grey yet? I am quite worried that this new Anodic Grey will not go well with Nougat bricks. Or perhaps I should go with black window frame? Happy to discuss. But seriously, maybe if you give A & L a call they may be able to give you an address where they have used the new colour and you can get an idea of what it will look like installed. I think if it's darker it should be fine with the Nougat bricks. What other colours did you go with at your appointment? Guttering, fascia, garage door? If you have used Shale Grey hoping to match it to your windows, and the windows are noticeably darker, that may be a problem. Am I helping or confusing you even more? Jo I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. Terrence Malick Re: A&L Windows - Metro Silver discontinued? 3Apr 16, 2009 9:01 am You can have window Colors anything you want. It is just there is an additional charge for once of colors. Chances are your old color wasnt being sold in high qty so they hyave changed it. Noramlly the extra charge is $1000 for single produciton colors. Not true, one or two do it, but most won't do special colours - and that goes for A&L unless you buy their expensive architectural range. However in my experience they were able to get what ever dulux color i wanted as long as iI was happy to wait for the alli to be painted and also to pay the cost of cleaning the oven and ordering the paint for one job. This was usually about 1000. The 1000 dollars was usuallu to cover the cost of cleaning the baking oven, because it had to be cleaned everythign the color is changed. Re: A&L Windows - Metro Silver discontinued? 7Apr 16, 2009 12:06 pm I have never heard of that one... the cost is in scrap material as it can't be used for other jobs and the risk that they make the wrong thing or it gets damaged or stolen from site and they have to make replacements. Standard colours are much easier. Ed "ECOECO" At 'EcoEco', we design windows, we design the best windows, we do it for you, so that when you’re happy we are happy. FND, I would do as Jo suggested and call up A&L to see which houses used this colour and go have a look. That's the best way to see how the colour really looks on a RL scale. Jo, I am seriously thinking of changing to black now I will call them tomorrow and ask for addresses for Anodic Grey Here are the colours we chose: Roof: Boral Macquarie Ebony Bricks: Austral Nougat Gutter and Fascia: CB Monument Windows: AnL Anodic Grey Downpipe: CB Dune Garage: CB Shale Grey Front Entry Door: CB Monument What do you think of this colour combination? I visited the PAGODA MK II Display House at Alamanda Point cook. They used nougat bricks and metro silver windows and i must say I was blown away by the metro silver sliding door to alfresco. Yes you are right, I am trying to match CB shale grey garage to the windows. and Anodic Grey is a touch darker than CB shale grey. But I think (and hope) that they will look the similar? Personally to me, Anodic Grey is something in between CB Shale Grey and CB Dune.
