The first two we had installed, the end of the handle comes loose a little bit at times, but by the third one, which came a couple months later, they had changd handles and this one's fine. We used Sun Line Roller Shutters. I didn't like the sales guy much but other than that they were fine. They will nail a sign on your fence at the front of your house before they leave, make sure you tell them not to do that unless you really want to give them free advertising (I did ask what sort of fee I was going to get for it ) "Your emotions are the slaves to your thoughts, and you are the slave to your emotions." — Elizabeth Gilbert Living in our new house. Sometime mid last year the straps that connected the windup handles to the shutters started snapping so we replaced them with motorised. Cost was approx $600ea. Motorized is great. There's no straps to break and you can just press the button and leave. The only drawback on our system was that the control panel is also the recharchable power supply. Every so often we have to undock the control panel and plug the charger in to charge the batteries. I suppose we could just leave the charger plugged into the control panel permanently but theres the matter of the unsightly cable hanging down. Re: Roller Shutters, motorised v/s manual - melb west 4Apr 02, 2009 9:06 pm If you get fully electric ones there is no cable or no batteries, just a switch on the wall like a light switch. We got 4 shutters, fully electric, supplied and installed, for $3820. The only drawback with electric ones, other than the cost being dearer than manual, is if there is a power failure, you wont be able to get shutters up or down. I have motorised roller blinds in my house. I motorised all the blinds I use a lot and the ones that don’t get used too often I didn’t. I went through Motorise My… 2 5603 have you used any of the motorised curtain systems available from Ebay? Which one and how is it? 0 2432 |
