Browse Forums Windows & Doors 1 Mar 30, 2009 2:56 pm Hi everyone I've just bought a new house and the flyscreens are terrible. (I HATE the cheap plasticy mesh flyscreens) The front door is beautiful double french doors but no security door, and the back sliding door and laundry sliding door is also fitted with a cheap standard flyscreen sliding door. My next door neighbours at my old house had "supascreen" sliding doors and security door on the front of their house and I thought it looked great. I realise its going to be quite expensive as its stainless steel but I'm just wondering if anyone can give me a "rough" idea of what i'd be looking at for the double front and the rear/laundry sliding doors. Also wondering what people reccommend for flyscreens on windows? I'm looking at between 10 - 15 windows. I'd love to have supascreen or similar done just for the aesthetic look of it. Any idea what a standard window is worth? Its a big job I know but i just cannot stand the cheap flyscreens (that you cant even remove to clean coz you risk ripping them etc etc)...I also want the good stuff so you can open windows and doors for ventilation without risking critters getting in through rips in the cheap rubbish!!! Any advice is really appreciated!!! Ben Re: Security doors and flyscreens help? 2Mar 30, 2009 3:09 pm Ben01 Hi everyone I've just bought a new house and the flyscreens are terrible. Supascreen style doors are around $600 each. Ed "ECOECO" At 'EcoEco', we design windows, we design the best windows, we do it for you, so that when you’re happy we are happy. I've found they are usually fitted very ******* and have a "sag" factor. I just really dislike it. Same deal in my past 2 houses. $600 is not bad - when you consider the stainless steel factor your getting quality. Any idea what an average window would be cost in supascreen??? They replace the old frame dont they?.. or do they use the original frame? Fibreglass should not sag or have rips... take it back. As I said you can get stainless mesh for flyscreens adds maybe $50/screen.
