Browse Forums Windows & Doors 1 Mar 23, 2009 10:22 pm We got a 1200mm-wide for the entrance door. We are deciding which door it will be suitable. Currently, we have two ideas....one is to have a 1200mm-wide door while another one is to have a 920mm-wide door with a 198mm-wide sidelight. Can't stand people "peeping" in through sidelights!! Some things are worth waiting for. Re: Entrance door selection 7Mar 24, 2009 3:41 pm donuts I like one big one. I like a big one too!! Re: Entrance door selection 16Mar 29, 2009 11:37 am kikin iTalk I asked PD to provide us with the 1200mm wide door as well as the sidelight if they could fit all on the house entry. Does it suit on your front door? What's the answer from PD? Well, any question I ask, PD seems to push the answer towards the tender appointment. So the answer is, no idea. I reckon your entry width would be the same as ours (dramana 27), prehaps you couldn't get a 1200mm-wide front door... Metricon Amira Re: Entrance door selection 18Mar 29, 2009 3:53 pm The porch width (which is the same as the entry) seems to be 1450mm, so if you have 1200mm door, then you need to add 100mm for the wooden frame (just a rough figure). You'll end up with 150mm left. I have no idea what to do with it If you go 920mm then you'll end up with 430mm space left. The 200mm sidelight can fit, but you'll have 230mm left It's a big problem, isn't it ? I think the first option sounds good if they use thick woodern frame to fill up the space. It's just 15cm after all. I dun think PD will allow you to do such big different as they have so many restrictions (e.g. sidelight must be more than 300mm)... so bad~~ Metricon Amira Re: Entrance door selection 20Mar 29, 2009 4:50 pm Well if 300mm for the sidelight, then it shouldn't be that bad. 920mm Entrance Door + 300mm Sidelight = 1230mm Total Width... That leaves 220mm (22cm) for the wooden frame which should be fine !! Or you could go for one huge 1200mm door which which is not too bad after all The warning is on the sticker on the door too.
