However it has been pointed out to me by a sleepover buddy that other people (meaning him) might not like the bedroom lit up at the crack of dawn everyday. So - those shutter things that adorn every display home, do they actually block out light ?. Thanking you in advance. Re: Shutters and Light 3Feb 13, 2009 4:55 pm Can I suggest you put roller or holland type blinds on the bedroom windows, you can get them in varying degrees of block-out, and have them pulled right up all the time, that way you have the 'bare' window that you want but you can pull them fully down when required? Re: Shutters and Light 4Feb 13, 2009 5:06 pm I'll let you know when mine eventually arrive........

Would they not let the light in at the side ? or is it minimal ?. These could also be something I could retro fit surely ?. You could get the holland's to sit in or outside the window frame (maybe manufacturer dependent??). If they sit inside the window frame then they will let some light in through the gaps at the edges. The new kind of holland blinds that have the draw string are a LOT better and come in a great range of colours compared to the old spring loaded ones 'A bottle of wine contains more philosophy than all the books in the world.'
