Ok I just checked out Holland blinds and I'm not too offended by them (its weird my curtain and blind dislike). They seem to sit inside the window area and give a clean look. Would they not let the light in at the side ? or is it minimal ?. These could also be something I could retro fit surely ?. You could get the holland's to sit in or outside the window frame (maybe manufacturer dependent??). If they sit inside the window frame then they will let some light in through the gaps at the edges. The new kind of holland blinds that have the draw string are a LOT better and come in a great range of colours compared to the old spring loaded ones 'A bottle of wine contains more philosophy than all the books in the world.'
