Browse Forums Windows & Doors 1 Nov 24, 2008 2:35 pm We have an ugly single garage door that I would like to replace with a sliding glass door..the hole would be 252cm x 214cm. Any ideas on cost or who does this in Brisbane? Also have a existing sliding galss door with a normal flyscreen, can we buy a security screen and just whack it in? Re: sliding glass doors 2Dec 06, 2008 8:44 am Hi Nats
Hmmm - no reply... well I will answer what I can. I am not in Brisbane and we only do double glazed... but here goes... You need an installer to measure for you don't do this yourself unless you really know what you are doing. Any builder/handyman can do this. The door could cost anywhere between $500 and $1,000. Fitting maybe $300 - $500. If you want a security door for an existing door check your local paper and get a measure & quote. Don't measure anything yourself, it's not easy and if you get it wrong.... expect to pay around $250-$300 for aluminium grill and $600 for stainless mesh.
