So while I'm on my window and door kick, thought i'd continue my rant Just wondering if anyone has had any experience with a NSW based timber window and door manufacturer called Windoor...? Came across their website while looking for alternative suppliers and liked the look of their products....BUT...I'd never heard of them before, so thought I'd ask! And...I figured that since I'm trying to explore as many options as possible to save some money, thought I'd ask for advice/recommendations about overseas suppliers that might be worthwhile contacting for a quote? I'm after timber framed, double-glazed windows and doors... I've read a few threads on here with people having mixed luck with sourcing their windows and doors overseas, but after receiving a few quotes from local suppliers - i figured it can't hurt to look at some other, more radical options! Anyway, apologies for the long post, but any advice on either question would be great! Thanks! Adam Re: Any heard of/used Windoor? + O/S timber window supplier? 3Nov 22, 2008 12:12 pm Hi,
Have you looked at Paarhammer. They make Euro style timber joinery (IV68) The IV68 timber window is a whole concept of frames, hardware and design to accomodate the demands of double glazing. Weight, rebate ventilation and drainage. The traditional timber joinery is designed for single glazing, quite often without propper seals and the hardware is rather ancient design, not adjustable and too light for heavy glazing. I've also asked for quotes from Windoor in Mona Vale and Duce in Queensland...both claim to be experts in timber windows and doors... Have you heard of either of them? Also - any thoughts on requesting a quote from overseas? Engineering timber is certainly a less fuss option, times cheaper to supply and install and better withstands humidity. 1 15907 As title suggests, looking at using the interlocking Pentablock stacked stone products to replace failing timber retaining… 0 17865 there is only 20% difference in concrete strength between 20 mpa and 25 mpa, so check with your engineer first if it fits his calculation tolerances.
