Hi guys,

At the time of tender we didn’t have our energy report.

Therefore we went with thermally broken which was understood to be the more expensive option.

However, now the builder is forcing us to use UPVC which to my understanding is cheaper.

They’re not willing to credit us any amount back, or even try thermally broken.

Is this normal?

What if we upgrade our insulation, and then get thermally broken?

Is UPVC more energy efficient than thermally broken?

Hmm, i feel like if materials or windows that are cheaper, should be refunded back.
I have seen multiple reports of customers having builders refund money or reduce the final invoice at the end of the build because they used cheaper / or less materials than expected.
