Browse Forums Windows & Doors 1 Nov 04, 2008 3:37 pm Anybody has any technical info on installing PVC windows in the 90mm timber stud walls ?? Waterproofing, sills, packing, sealing, expansion gaps, anything at all ? There's nothing on PVC in the books I've managed to find, only on aluminium and/or timber.

Take care that the window is installed square and that the sashes and doors open before you permanently fix them.

Depends whose windows you use as to how the reveals can be attached. Send me a photo and I will see what can be done. Chris So the total depth of your construction, plaster to exterior cladding is 90mm? And your windows are 70mm? And you want the window exterior to finish where? Level with the cladding? What does your profile look like? Is the profile same throughout your window & door schedule? Not sure what you mean - what about a sill - it's integral with the window. We would fit a perimeter reveal to attach the window to the house frame. how the reveal is attached to the window depends on your window design. It looks like your window has an inward opening sash with the drainage to the left or outside. If you give me a call I will talk you through it. I will PM you my contact details.
