Browse Forums Windows & Doors 1 Mar 03, 2022 9:07 pm Hi, Is it normal for aluminium frame windows to be warped like this over time? The window appears to open and close ok. Is this a sign of other potential issues? Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Above: Warped at the base Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Above: Warped along the top of the frame. Could be the house moving causing slab heave and putting pressure on the frames. Dark matter scientist, can breathe underwater, mind reader and can freeze matter just by willing it. Could be the house moving causing slab heave and putting pressure on the frames. There is cracking around the house. The house is on stumps not a concrete slab. House can still move on stumps. The cracking is evidence of the movement. How bad is the cracking? Dark matter scientist, can breathe underwater, mind reader and can freeze matter just by willing it. Trust me, its in my sig. Re: Aluminium window frames not straight/warped? 5Mar 04, 2022 8:18 am The cracking is in front porch area, driveway, some cracks internally on plasterboard. All the windows sills look slightly uneven. All the windows seem to have this sagging appearance on the top and bottom of the window frames. I'd get a structural engineer to take a look. There may be some remediation that an be done. Hope you didn't buy it for a quick flip/investment. Then there is the lintel which looks to have a lot of surface rust. The lintel looks OK structurally, but the window is a mess.
