I currently have a retractable screen door installed on the inside of the opening, behind the outside wall. But my cat can easily get out by poking the bottom of the screen. From the outside wall to my door there's about 1m distance. The opening is 1.9m, there's no room to fit the sliding flycreen door on the inside so it has to go on the outside. Not weird. I actually wish we would have done that because when you go to close the doors, you trap all the insects sitting on the screen inside the house, which is kind of counter to the aim.
