Browse Forums Windows & Doors 1 Jan 31, 2012 9:35 am We are having 3m width double-glazed stacker doors installed as part of our new home build. I would like them to be the taller 2400mm high doors as they are in a large room but am concerned they may be heavy to open and close. Has anyone had any experience with similar doors? Do they cost much more than the standard 2100mm high? Also, is it possible to get a fly screen for an opening-out french door? Are french doors much more costly (timber) than timber sliding (not stacker)? doors if so, why? Thanks for any advice. https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=43937&start=0 Bought a block in Golden Grove - Jan 2011 Finally finished our design, Mar 2012, *yay* Signed with ADH council consent June 12 Re: Timber stackers @2400mm high 2Jan 31, 2012 10:14 pm Hi DCT Take a look at the Centor website http://www.centor.com.au with one word of warning.....their stuff aint cheap but it is darn good They do dual sliding flyscreen thats embedded into the left and right door frames up to 7.6m wide and 3.2m tall however this model must be incorporated at door build time. Trend and Canterbury Windows both do a stacker door with this unit included. http://www.canterburywindows.com.au/WindowsDoorsProducts/TimberDoors/BifoldTimberDoors/ScreenedBifoldTimberDoors.aspx http://www.trendwindows.com.au/Cedar2010Range/CedarBifioldRetractScreenMay10.pdf I priced a 5 door 3600w x 2100h with double glazed french door panels before christmas from Canterbury..came in at $6900 That door also comes with one of Centor's tracking systems which can do doors up to 120kgs spanning 17.6m http://www.centor.com.au/folding/technical-info There are other post build flyscreens "but" you need to have the space around the door and the type of floor to allow the tracking to be installed. A quick google showed there were a number of options out there. Good Luck RiH Thanks, they look pretty decent. Yeah, MJH didnt give the option, only for windows. Will certainly look into it, cheers. 4 1956 It will be neat but you won't have much freeboard. At least they are not weep holes. Are you in a high intensity rainfall region? The regulatory slope is only required… 3 8769 Thanks mate. Yeah good points! Leaning towards Option 3 to get a bit extra space in the cabinets but not going too crazy high (and expensive).
