Browse Forums Windows & Doors 1 Oct 29, 2014 11:48 pm Hi Everyone, I am an owner Builder and have had my windows and doors installed. They are fitted into the timber frame - brick veneer construction. They all have 10mm gaps all the way around. Is it acceptable for me to use expanded foam around this gap as I want the windows as close to air-tight as possible. Thanks Carmania Re: New Window Installation Gaps 2Oct 30, 2014 11:14 am Hi On the inside around the reveals, that is the standard to allow for levelling - your builder may tuck in insulation to fill the gap. On the outside, the bricks should be snug. Ed "ECOECO" At 'EcoEco', we design windows, we design the best windows, we do it for you, so that when you’re happy we are happy. You will then have control over the flow of foam, I have seen foam expand from a can and stain the windows, even when wiped off. Sorry I missed this, simply put this is a pathetic job, and as it stands it is non-compliant... I think the worst part is not in the quality of the workmanship so much… 5 7361 7 2581 do not pay until you are satisfied with workmanship windows require flashing over the head archithrave and up under weatherboards 3 28578 |
