Browse Forums Paving & Concreting 1 Sep 14, 2008 9:29 am Hi everyone,
Just a question on a quote we got for concreting our shed slab. Its 9x4.2 and the quote is $5000.00 for coloured concrete with a pump. Uncoloured is $600.00 less. Apparently this guy is very good and has done work for a few of the neighbours, so we have seen his work. Is this OK? Paula Re: Quote for shed slab 2Sep 14, 2008 6:05 pm all depends on the slab construction is it an engineered slab ie : raft, pod etc?
if so then not a bad price assuming all plans and site survey are already done. if it is standard 100mm thick with sl62 etc with a pump, (a standard slab that size doesnt need a pump unless there are access problems) then a bit much but without seeing the job, build specs, amount of excavation etc its hard to tell reinforcement has gone up around 70% in the last 6 odd mnths and concrete has gone up as well so concrete jobs arent as cheap as they use to be Da Vinci Outdoor Living Architectural landscaping http://www.davincioutdoor.com Re: Quote for shed slab 3Sep 14, 2008 6:22 pm Thanks Davinci,
It will be poured after the shed has been erected, the pump is because of access issues. No excavation, or raft or pod??(I think) Not sure of the thickness - dont think to ask those questions - DH will know! Paula Re: Quote for shed slab 5Oct 27, 2008 9:46 pm 7k without pump or colour
Just had my mate over and he runs his own concreting business. He says that is a rough price because he isn't sure of Melbourne prices Re: Quote for shed slab 6Mar 11, 2009 6:41 pm is it better to put the concrete in after the shed is up or before?
