Browse Forums Paving & Concreting 1 Nov 24, 2017 8:35 am Hi All, Looking for a bit of help with this one. We have a friend who accidentally dropped a "bottle" of nail polish on our exposed aggregate driveway. We immediately tried to use nail polish remover to clean the drive but this had little effect. In order to try and clean it, they poured some acetone over the spill. This got rid of the nail polish but has bleached the exposed aggregate. I have tried to use hot soapy water and high pressure washer with no effect. Eventually we have had the concreter who originally laid the driveway for us come and have a look. He has quoted us to sand blast the entire driveway and reseal it as he feels this is the best form of action. I have no clue about these things, so I have to take his word for it. The issue I have now, is that I have not been able to reach him again as he simply does not respond to emails or return calls. So I have been stuck waiting for the work to be done. I have spoken to other local contractors and they are all pretty busy so I wanted to see if anyone had any recommendations for how we may be able to self clean this? I have attached a couple images to show what it looks like. I have read on other forums about using Napisan (Vanish) or Bleach to clean exposed aggregate drives. But I don't want to start adding more bleach to the drive. Does anyone have any suggestions? PS: we are based in Victoria if that Thanks in advance! We tried a bunch of chemicals to fix it, but the stain went away on its own from sun bleaching. We were left with bleach staining on the driveway from some of the attempts to clean it off. I'd advise to just use a pressure washer and let the sun take its course over a month or two. We can't even see the tannin stain anymore, but just the bleach marks... how ironic lol Clarendon Denton 24 | Gold Coast Status: Internal fitout!
