Browse Forums Paving & Concreting 1 Jul 03, 2017 6:19 pm I am currently finalizing my build prior to it being released for construction once i get my build loan finalized. hopefully will be adding a Stratco outback or similar within a year or so of completion Is it worth doing the concreting for future outdoor area at tiem of rest of concreting i assume its easier for them to design drainage etc into the grated sumps specified on the site plan if i do it all at once Have had several quotes for concreting and think i have picked my quote Quote 1 - $8325 34m2 charcoal to front - 100mm thick and F62mesh 43m2 plain to rear of house - 75mm thick and f52 mesh 17.5m2 plain concrete additional to year of house for future Pergola location + sealer and tint can cut $1425 by not including the pergola area in concrete at this stage + $2400 for Stormwater (trenching, 90mm pipes, fittings etc) Quote 2 $8150 - contact provided by building consultant 94m@ concrete to driveway, paths, and future rear alfresco area Charcoal to front and plain to rear - extra $650 to go all charcoal all concrete to be 100mm thick with f62 mesh did not request stormwater quote at that time but have requested that now also assuming quote 2 would include sealer etc as not specified Thinking i probably should get another quote or 2 as well though looks like quote 2 is current winner (thicker concrete and higher grade mesh) Re: Concreting quotes and future pergola area 2Jul 03, 2017 8:20 pm Shop around a bit more. Your quotes are around $90/m2. You should be able to find somebody around $80/m2. Cost for stormwater drainage seems a bit high. How many linear metres is it? I had the trenching done for me but laying the pipe I did myself. wasn't that hard and got everything I needed from Bunnings. Re: Concreting quotes and future pergola area 3Jul 03, 2017 11:27 pm I am intending to get some more quotes. at least the bank says i can submit one quote for the valuation and then if i find a better price its no problem to change suppliers down when its time to do the concreting. Below is the siteplan. - only difference is i have filled in cutout at the rear of the garage but not yet reflected on master plans Its also why i have not signed and submitted the copy they sent me last week. Interesting thing is the estate design guidelines say driveways to be 150mm thick but the quotes i'm getting are saying 100mm thick. Re: Concreting quotes and future pergola area 10Feb 11, 2018 6:36 pm well still 6 or so weeks from handover. Have got my stormwater lined up and just confirming final as finished prices for concreting or possibly paving Have been advised by my solar installer that he wont be needing to use the rear roof area so have deciuded to delay my pergola area for a year or 2 but still looking at the Stratco Sanctuary. Stormwater is now being done by a friend of a friend who is a plumber with SW experience Planning to extend my concrete to a distance of approx 3.2 meters from rear of house for the entire 7m length and then get pergola width designed to extend 20cm past that when its built so the posts are anchored into their own footings separate from the concrete. once i have my final builders invoice i will lock in a concrete price with a deposit but will be basing it on a 100mm thickness with SL72 Mesh design Re: Concreting quotes and future pergola area 11Feb 17, 2018 1:12 pm Hi Entilzha thank you very much for providing the insights to the construction ! I am sure you will get the everything under control for the handover. Just with the stormwater design, I understand your friend would be assisting with it but do we need to do anything during the construction with the builder ? Like something for the garden area drainage ? My pergola space is almost same as yours - 7m x 3m and at this stage the plan is to do the concrete may be exposed and then install the Stratco pergola. May I ask what's the concrete quote rates you are getting ? Are you planning to do exposed concrete throughout and for the pergola areas as well ? Appreciate your assistance ! Cheers ! Re: Concreting quotes and future pergola area 12Feb 17, 2018 1:38 pm basic quotes i have been getting are $95 to $100 m2 coloured and $120m2 aggregate think the main thing is to just follow your engineers drainage recommendation for example my above plan has 4 drainage grates to carry water from concrete areas into stormwater (3 corners and 1 behind garage) have already discussed my pergola plans with local council and they meet space requirements etc so can do my landscaping etc before worrying about pergola structure now Scientists have used random matrix theory to demonstrate theoretically that the neutrino mass hierarchy can be explained mathematically.
