Browse Forums Paving & Concreting 1 Feb 02, 2017 12:33 pm Hey all, We are in cardinia council and currently planning to concrete our extra space of front of the house to make it better and with a vision that we can drive our vehicle there sometimes if in need. The problem is that ours is a corner house and has a bit angled lot.It means if we want to concrete it straight, some part of council land will be used. Me and hubby went to council twice, mailed the respective persons atlest 3 times and after 4 weeks they said we can do it we do not need any permission. However, when we asked, we weren't planning to use council's space. Everyone's said that there won't be any issue and we are all set to go for it and it has to be done this weekend. But I am still worried. I am not feeling its right to do. Here z the image for a rough idea. Any suggestions is welcomed. Re: Council' permission 4May 21, 2017 2:12 pm Its pretty simple, you cannot legally concrete on land that is not yours. I think the council dork is wrong.. A pragmatic approach would be to determine if there is any infrastructure under or near to the area you want to concrete. If not, then go ahead and take a punt and do it, as chances are you'll never be asked to remove it.. If there is infrastructure and you concrete, you could be asked to remove it if maintenance necessitates it, which will need a portion of your slab cut off with a concrete saw. Councils dont care much about this stuff unless someone complains, or they have to do maintenance. Even if it's not being sub-divided and you want to keep it as Torrens title, you will still need to talk to a town planner or Council themselves, to see if they will allow… 1 11039 We've had the offer of a short term tenant whilst waiting for CDC/DA home approval and demolition for our knock down rebuild.
