Browse Forums Paving & Concreting 1 Nov 19, 2016 11:41 am Hi all, I'm building a new house and we are at its final stages. The driveway concrete was laid 17/11/2016 (two days ago). I went to see the property the day the concrete was poured and can already see multiple hairline cracks. I understand there is always a possibility of cracks occurring but so many and on the same day?! I have engaged a pre-handover inspection however waiting confirmation if the driveway is included. I just wanted to get everyone's opinion on what you think about the driveway. Does it look like it was done by an experienced and licensed contractor? Does it look straight to you? From one point to the same point on the other side. Left to right Is the slope even or pour to standard? Is this the standard thickness for a driveway? My gut is telling me to get other licensed contractors (around 3) to inspect and offer their opinions for support when I ask the builders to fix any issues. Any opinions are appreciated. They are very thorough and it will give you peace of mind. Re: New House - Concrete Driveway Concerns (Please Help) 3Nov 20, 2016 11:04 am Thank you Waldorf_Grange_Build for your response. Unfortunately, I'm in Sydney. I've already engaged a pre-handover inspection, just waiting confirmation if the driveway is included as part of their inspection. Thanks for all replies. I just noticed now the pictures I added to post right on top of page were wrong. I attached pictures showing "current" and my "suggested" floor… 9 14609 Regardless of wall hung toilet or floor pan toilet your feet will be right on drain, seems to me the waste should not be in that location given the design. Also are you… 6 7020 you need to make an application to your local council for this as they are the approval authority for driveways cheers Simeon 1 7068 |
