Yes very poorly enforced. Cost cutting- That is what I thought but it is hard when building manager agrees and is the one that arranged this. I have told them I thought it was worse than last week before they added the soil .. but as you said cost cutting so no acknowledgement of problem. We've done a good job. Footings are ok. I asked to have my Concreter in ASAP, so can dig this up and do properly. No cost to them of course. They said no way they'll approve access. I have now asked consultant engineer to come out but as he consults for them not sure he will agree. As it may be a conflict of interest. Thanks for information. Hope I can have it dug up soon! Re: Concrete Perimeter around home 122Nov 23, 2016 2:39 pm Gaudi I asked to have my Concreter in ASAP, so can dig this up and do properly. That is the correct thing to do. Water is not compressible and if the path is laid over un-compacted waterlogged fill, the path possibly/probably could/will subside as the soil dries and end up sloping towards the house. Also make sure that the concreter knows the correct required slope. The CSIRO booklet that builders give to their customers shows an erroneous 1:60 slope over one metre and the concreters Association handbook also showed (and might even still do so) an incorrect slope. The house must also have a height of 150mm between the soil and the bottom of the weep holes. It is not unusual to see photos on this forum where the soil is almost up to the weep holes. I hope that you have taken plenty of photos. EDITED: Corrected typo. 3in1 Supadiverta. Rainwater Harvesting Best Practice using syphonic drainage. Cleaner Neater Smarter Cheaper Supa Gutter Pumper. I hope that you have taken plenty of photos. I had no idea of that kind of concrete path issue if laid over un-compacted water. Thanks so much for all the advice. Will speak to concreter about this and other. Enough photos to show that they didn't use temporary downpipes or other required protective measures either throughout the build. Thanks again for your time!!! Yes, unless you are in a low intensity rainfall area or the area is protected from rain. Do you have access to NCC Part 2 or can you download it? I can email you a copy… 10 12370 i had the my concreters concrete right up to the fence. I have pits all along my path, so the water tends to drain away from the house and into the pits.
