Browse Forums Paving & Concreting 1 May 03, 2016 3:56 pm Hi all, We have been quoted approx. $5-6k from Henley for our driveway, letterbox and clothes line. However, this is just the starting price and due to our estate requirements we can't have a standard grey driveway. It must be coloured or agrevated concrete. So i'm expecting it to come up to around 8k; would this be a reasonable assumption? I've been told by many people that it would be cheaper to do it all seperately after handover, but i can't get any quotes for the driveway until the house is built, so i'm a bit torn on what to do... Would love any feedback/suggestions anyone may have. Did you do the driveway through your builder or after? Re: Concrete driveway - building with Henley 2May 03, 2016 4:54 pm Hi, i am getting mine done after handover, same as the clothesline and letterbox. It is cheaper; all I had to do was give the plans for the driveway to the company that i am going through and he was able to quote me precisely. Im sure Henley would be happy to give you the driveway plans. I didnt need to specifically ask for mine as they were sent to me with the other plans. Re: Concrete driveway - building with Henley 4Nov 21, 2016 10:49 pm Hi gngcrazy, Has your house been complete? I'm just going through the final stages of my house. The builder did my driveway. I recommend you do this after handover. The builders will try to cut cost and may install a driveway that is not to what you expected. I'm going through a battle with them now. I hope this helps To my understanding early saw cuts are to control shrinkage cracks, so doing them now would be pointless. Control joints may reduce ugly cracking during periods of soil… 3 9828 Hi all I need a guidance on how far I need to space expansion joints in the concrete driveway and its type (keyway/foam.) Contraction joints are at 3m max for a 125 slab. Thanks 0 10921 |
