Browse Forums Paving & Concreting 1 Apr 27, 2016 4:47 pm I have been trying to get approval for our driveway without much luck. The inspector wants the gradients from the kerb and footpath sections to be much lower. This however creates a footpath section that is actually lower that the natural ground level. It also creates a transition into the property that would be way to sharp and my cars would never get into the property. Has anyone on the GC had any recent experience that might be able to steer me in the right direction? Re: Gold Coast Driveway issues 2Apr 29, 2016 3:55 pm Gradients of crossovers (the section that goes over the council's footpath) are usually regulated, and nothing you can do about it. How you do your driveway on your land is entirely your business.
Actually I just remembered some councils have rules that there must be onsite covered parking. In this case, the driveway to achieve that then becomes part of the development, and subject to approval. OP does not say what stage of build, if any, he is at. LAnd developers in Qld are not allowed to prepare blocks with a gradient such as that shown in the photo below, partly to ensure off street cat parking is possible. OP, submit some photos so we can see your problem. Re: Gold Coast Driveway issues 4May 04, 2016 5:19 pm Yup and that is pretty much the issue. Gold Coast City Council have set parameters that must be met. Problem is, placing parameters on areas like footpaths doesn't work because the road and kerb that your measuring from is a constantly changing variable. We now have Clarendon coming back out tomorrow with surveyor to remeasure heights.
