Browse Forums Paving & Concreting 1 Jan 12, 2016 2:45 am Hey guys, My alfresco plans are for a tiled 3.2 x 4.7 slab. I was thinking of doing a private deal with the grano and tiler to extend it from 4.7 to around 7.1m 1. Would they be willing to do it? 2. Does it require a permit from council? 3. Will the builder notice and crack it or can i smooth it over with the ss first? 4. Will they check it for certificate of occupancy? Thanks in advance Re: Extending alfresco - permit required??? 2Jan 12, 2016 10:45 am They may. It may. Why not. Is it part of contract. If you are in an estate do you need to meet their requirements ? Does builder mind you doing it - have you asked ? Will it affect the build in any way ? I'd talk to the SS. Re: Extending alfresco - permit required??? 3Jan 12, 2016 6:24 pm Seems like it would be best to bypass the builder and have a chat with the SS My build with FHBD viewtopic.php?f=31&t=78344 Extending alfresco - permit required??? 4Jan 12, 2016 6:38 pm Daz_ Hey guys, My alfresco plans are for a tiled 3.2 x 4.7 slab. Thanks in advance How observant do you think your builder is if you could dream that he might not notice? Do you want someone who would not notice that building your house? Anyway, while your builder has control of the site it's up to him. If his trades say no it's not a bad thing, it means they're loyal to him and take care in their work so don't lose out in the long run. Guess it depends how big your builder is but I would chat to them first. I would imagine that anyone else representing the builder would have trust in the SS and wouldn't check every detail of the construction when nearing the end. No doubt asking the builder will get me nowhere because they will be annoyed at not filling their pockets in the process! Seems it'll be best to have a chat to the SS and then see how it pans out My build with FHBD viewtopic.php?f=31&t=78344 Re: Extending alfresco - permit required??? 7Jan 13, 2016 8:13 pm Thanks Qebtel!
