Browse Forums Paving & Concreting 1 Dec 14, 2015 2:06 pm Planning a concrete path using 300 x 300 travertine pavers in a checkerboard pattern surrounded by 20m polished black pebbles. Something my wife saw at a resort in Bali and wants to replicate. Intention is to lay each paver on its own concrete pad, allow that to set and then lay some rebar and pour the remaining concrete, screed that off, sink the pebbles into it and hose off after its slightly set as you would an exposed aggregate finish. Path is trapazoid in shape and drops about 40mm in 4.5m. Has anyone done something similar and have tips and problems I should be aware of? I though about sinking the pavers and the pebbles into the concrete at the same time but figured it would be easier to get the levels on the pavers correct doing them first. I've read a mix of sugar and water over the top makes it easier to hose off the pebbles once the concrete has started to firm.
