Browse Forums Paving & Concreting 1 Oct 17, 2015 10:50 am Hi there Been a while since I've popped in to H1... I have to use my phone so please forgive any typos or abbreviations. We have finally ordered a pool and we are considering our options for the pool surrounds. We don't have a lot of $$ to play with so need to keep it fairly simple. One option is paving. We have seen some stone pavers (from stone outdoors/stone made in concrete - if anyone has any experience with these pavers??)... But I am trying to figure out if it is 'the done thing' to pave over concrete. I like the idea of not dealing with sand/weeds in between the pavers - so is laying a bed of concrete and then paving over the top a common practice? What type of grouting is used? Also - I read somewhere about concrete having to cure for 6wks prior to paving on top - is this the case? My concern with paving is any upkeep of them losing their appearance over time due to embedded dirt or cracked/damaged grouting. (Whereas concrete we have been told you just give it a good spray to come up as good as new) Is there any particular tips or type of pavers that maintain their appearance over others? Suitable for around pools. We will be going with a grey colour - but possibly lighter rather than darker(??) Any advice on my questions/concerns or tops regarding paving around pools in general would be spore hated. Cheers HHCIB Thanks again Simeon for being so elaborate. Appreciate it. Its gives us a very idea. Kind Regards 4 3666 2 7191 There is no reason why building contract reconciliation cannot be done prior to handover, if the builder won't do it get someone to do it for you.
