Browse Forums Paving & Concreting 1 Jul 11, 2008 10:39 pm Hey everyone. I was wondering if anyone has some ideas re basketball court for kids. I have an area in backyard about 7m x 5m put aside to put a small quarter court in. I’m not sure what the best surface would be. Looking at possibly concreting but not sure what finish or type of paint to use either.
Any ideas re: type of surface or paint would be helpful. Benny. no wager, no challenge, no fun. Re: concreting a basketball court for kids??? 3Jul 12, 2008 4:48 pm for a non slip finish get a stipple finish (swirl) slab
dont get a broom finish, wears off in no time trowel finish is to slippery unless you use a non slip sealer additive over the top if you want it coloured you can either have the colour batched into conc. mix hand cast with colour hardener when it is being poured or use a xylene based penetrative concrete sealer with a colour tint in it cheapest option is to colour seal but if conc. chips you have grey underneath Da Vinci Outdoor Living Architectural landscaping http://www.davincioutdoor.com Re: concreting a basketball court for kids??? 4Jul 13, 2008 9:38 am Thanks for the welcome Paula.
And thanks for comments Davinci. I like the idea of the colored batched into conc mix. I'm not sure what the stipple finish is but it sounds good. Do you know what the multipurpose public courts use. Like the netball courts you see at park. They seam to be pretty slip resistant and also smooth finish. Anyway thanks for the help. Benny no wager, no challenge, no fun.
