In regards to waffle pod slabs, why is it that the steel reinforcement on top of the pods must sit on chairs rather than directly on the pods ?
In advance thank you for your contribution.
Kind Regards,
Chris

When in the middle (Neutral Axis) its there to hold the concrete together when it cracks (shrinkage crack control)..technically no bending,torsion,3D stesses, etc.. sounds great in theory A waffle slab should also resist all displacement, stresses, etc, etc and also it's a bit more complicated than that and very difficult to analyze without 3D BIM Simulations/modelling. If I get a chance Ill see if I can put some multiphysics sims up in a video...which should capture changes (Stiffness, EI) with reference to TIME FWIK, we are heading down the path of customized engineering (Euro codes) as there are a lot of variables to factor and the one size fits all application (NCC) is failing on difficult builds I would love to see the sims videos! Let us know if you ever get a chance to upload them. The Soil classification has little to do with piers. The purpose of the classing of the soil is to identify the clay content and the "average expected range of movement… 2 9854 my suspicion - some builders, they do usually make 'odd' settings in their site plan / pricing as their standards - being hopeful that first - the initial price is… 9 2475 |
