Browse Forums Paving & Concreting 1 Apr 29, 2015 12:57 am Hi, I was wanting to replace my entire paved area, with a decking, and after asking my council for permits, they said that it would be estimated at over $2,500 - just for permits!!! I guess my deck option is OUT, and I'm back to pavers again! I'm wondering whether I could raise the level of my pavers (see photos below) by raising the sand level, compacting it, and then re-laying the pavers? Would it work, and stay that way long-term? I don't believe I have any active dampcourse, so my plan before raising the level would be to dig up the soil next to the brickwork, and water proof it with bitumen paint.
