Browse Forums Paving & Concreting 1 Mar 15, 2015 1:35 pm Hi all, I am considering sealing my exposed agg driveway (new house at PCI stage). Some people say yes, others say it is not worth it. Most agg driveways in the Region are not sealed (I live in Proserpine, so North Central Queensland, so hot, humid and wet summers with mild winter). Thanks for any advice! Cheers, Dale Dale - Building Newbie Proserpine, QLD Re: Sealing exposed aggregate driveway? 2Mar 15, 2015 2:54 pm dalemengel Hi all, I am considering sealing my exposed agg driveway (new house at PCI stage). Cheers, Dale I will be sealing mine when they are done. Just my choice to keep them looking good and giving them added protection. More money and more work I know. Re: Sealing exposed aggregate driveway? 3May 30, 2015 7:41 pm Sealing any surface will help eliminate moss and dirt embedding in to surface. I was at paveworld today and they have a penetrating sealer with 15yr guarantee however it's about $12/m2 for materials. There are other companies around you know Also, read carefully about the 15yr guarantee, it certainly is expensive to keep! Re: Sealing exposed aggregate driveway? 5Jun 05, 2015 5:10 pm I just visited your website. What product do you recommend for exposed ag sealing? What do you recommend for garage floor epoxy finish? Do you have approximate cost per square metre for each surface sealing? You did in the end For exposed agg there really are two types of finishes, wet look or natural. Depending on how many sqm and where you are located can depend on cost. Are you looking at doing this yourself or getting in a professional? For the wet look probably Sealer 202. For penetrating either Sealer 102 or Sealer 103. All very good strong systems. For your garage floor I would just use a chlorinated rubber product. Stinky to put down but I did my garage in it and was very happy with the end results. Lived in the house for 4yrs without any issues of de-laminating or otherwise. Can colour the product to match external look. Look for an AS2700 colour chart for over 200 colours we can match. If you found my website, feel free to call and have a chat re costing on the above. Our build starts shortly so it will be about 6 months before driveway is done as it is after handover. I will be doing the labour myself at this stage. Re: Sealing exposed aggregate driveway? 9Jun 12, 2015 7:00 pm I would definitely seal the driveway. Our driveway included the sealing, they do that as standard. I never realised it can be done without sealing.
