Browse Forums Paving & Concreting 1 Nov 25, 2014 7:27 pm Hello - I am currently doing a footing to support some brick work and a heavy gate. The bricklayer asked me to do the footing 1.5m x 1m x 3ft deep. I have done this and have the following questions: - The footing is alongside the house foundations, does this matter? - How much MPA would the concrete need to be? - The soil is clay and has filled with water a couple of time during rain, how dry does the soil need to be before I concrete? - What kind of rock should I put at the bottom of the footings and how deep? - Do I need to do anything to the soil before I concrete? I could attach a photo but I'm not sure how to do it. Thanks so much for your help, great forum. My holes are around 450mm deep which I'll put a 200mm stirrup into. The bottom of these holes seem firm enough. … 0 3300 |
