Browse Forums Paving & Concreting 1 Jul 31, 2014 2:55 pm Hi Guys, I've just build a brick perimeter wall which will be rendered. There is a split in the wall and there is going to be an exposed aggregate driveway through there with 2 brick piers either side. Just wondering should I get the exp agg driveway poured first then get the wall and piers rendered? I was thinking get the driveway done first because I know concrete pouring can get messy at times? Thanks! Peter Re: Pour exp agg driveway or render wall first 2Jul 31, 2014 5:07 pm Its a good question Peter, it all comes down to availability of trades and what finish you want where the 2 come together. Its a bit hit and miss if you render first, as there's the risk of damage, and you will also need to put at least one coat of paint on as the acid will eat the render when the exposed is acid washed. But the plus is they can run able flex over the render and you end up with a nice neat finish at the bottom. If you go the other way and conc first the render finishes on top of the able flex, so unless you have a top notch renederer this get get pretty messy and looks uneven. We always go with option a, patch a bit of render and put a final coat on once the exposed is sealed. I am looking for someone who might have tackled a similar issue as me. I have a few rendered interior walls, the surface condition is hardly flat. I can see all the bumps… 0 7967 Thank you again Simeon.. I will call my certifier for that. Have a good day 4 5196 |
